37 times. Even though repeal has no chance of passing the Senate, and certainly no chance of being signed by President Obama.

There is real work to be done, and yet Boehner and the House Republicans have chosen to focus instead on appealing to their lunatic fringe through a series of “Groundhog Day” votes. Enough is enough.

Members of the House Intelligence Committee are entrusted with classified information that affects the safety and security of all Americans. That information should not be in the hands of anyone with such a fondness for conspiracy theories, McCarthyist tactics, and utter dishonesty.

Michele Bachmann has said that gay marriage is the biggest problem facing our nation, that carbon pollution is harmless, that the HPV vaccination causes mental retardation, that intelligent design is accepted science, that the Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating U.S. government, that financial reform efforts equate with Mussolini-style fascism, that President Obama is “anti-American” and “turning our country into a nation of slaves.” And now she’s even under investigation for ethics violations.

It is simply unacceptable to allow Bachmann’s delusional opinions and bizarre rhetoric to continue having a place in Congress, especially on this critical committee.
