Hey Ted Nugent: “Stop Slamming Others & Focus on Your Crappy Music Instead”

Once again, Ted Nugent has made headlines by attacking President Obama, making not-so-veiled threats, and just plain behaving like a lunatic:

Speaking during an interview at the National Rifle Association’s convention over the weekend, Nugent said that conservatives need to recruit hundreds, if not thousands, of voters for presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney if they want any chance of beating President Obama — who is leading a government that Nugent says is “wiping his ass with the constitution.” In addition to recruiting those voters, Nugent said that winning required them to “ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.”  (source)

The question is:  why does anyone give a crap what Ted Nugent thinks?  The guy hasn’t had a top 20 album since 1980.  That was the Carter administration.  You know how old Lady Gaga was then?  Negative 6.  Hell, the Beatles had only been broken up less than a decade.

Hey Ted Nugent: “Stop Slamming Others & Focus on Your Crappy Music Instead”

Seriously, the guy’s last studio album was done in 2007.  And it raced up the charts… all the way to # 186.   No wonder he’s coming up with all this outrageous political nonsense. Because he sure as hell can’t seem to come up with any good music.

Hell, it’s not like he was ever that good to begin with.  He’s had one top 10 single in the 40+ years he’s been doing music. And that single wasn’t even really his, it was for “High Enough,” a song he did with a guy from Styx, a guy from Night Ranger, and some other guy.  So again, to be clear — adding a guy from Styx and a guy from Night Ranger actually improved Nugent’s music.

So hey, it’s understandable why Nugent wants to change the subject.  Don’t let him.
